
Chayote Stir-Fry

Ingredients
- 2 chayotes
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- 1. Peel the chayotes and cut them into thin slices or matchsticks.
- 2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
- 3. Add the minced garlic and sliced onion to the skillet and sauté until fragrant.
- 4. Add the chayote slices, red bell pepper, and julienned carrot to the skillet.
- 5. Stir-fry the vegetables for about 5-7 minutes until they are crisp-tender.
- 6. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
- 7. Pour the sauce mixture over the stir-fried vegetables and toss to coat evenly.
- 8. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- 9. Remove from heat and serve hot.
