- 4 expired bagels
- 2 cups milk
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup raisins or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Slice the expired bagels into small cubes and place them in the greased baking dish.
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- If desired, sprinkle raisins or chocolate chips over the bagel cubes in the baking dish.
- Pour the milk mixture over the bagel cubes, ensuring they are fully soaked.
- Press down on the bagel cubes gently to ensure even soaking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the bread pudding is set and golden brown.
- Allow the bread pudding to cool slightly before serving.
- Serve warm as is or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.
