
Toasted Marshmallow Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients
- 4 cups rice cereal
- 4 cups expired marshmallows (365 days after expiry)
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add the expired marshmallows and cook, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
- Add the rice cereal and gently stir until well coated.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and press it down evenly with greased hands or a greased spatula.
- Allow the treats to cool and set at room temperature for at least 1 hour.
- Cut into squares or desired shapes and serve.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
