Ingredients
- 2 chicken breasts, sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 4 star anise pods, lightly crushed
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the sliced chicken, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add garlic, ginger, and star anise pods. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry for 5-6 minutes or until cooked through.
- Add the sliced onion, bell pepper, and carrot. Stir-fry for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- In a small bowl, whisk together chicken broth, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and honey. Pour the sauce over the stir-fry and toss to coat everything evenly.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
