
Edam Cheese Pasta Bake
A delicious pasta bake recipe made with slightly expired Edam cheese.
Ingredients
- 200g pasta
- 200g opened block Edam cheese, grated
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 can of diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until translucent.
Add the can of diced tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and mix well.
Pour in the milk and half of the grated Edam cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted and everything is well combined.
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining grated Edam cheese and breadcrumbs on top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
