Goat Cheese and Tomato Tart
A savory tart that makes use of expired goat cheese crumbles and ripe tomatoes. Proper baking ensures food safety.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- 1 cup expired goat cheese crumbles
- 2 medium tomatoes, sliced
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Using a fork, prick the pastry all over to prevent it from puffing up too much during baking.
Spread the expired goat cheese crumbles evenly over the puff pastry.
Arrange the tomato slices on top of the goat cheese.
Drizzle the olive oil over the tomatoes and season with salt, pepper, and fresh basil.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and the tomatoes are soft.
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Slice into squares or wedges and serve as an appetizer or main dish.
