Ingredients
- 4 fresh apples, whole (expired but still safe to consume)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup water

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Core the apples using an apple corer, leaving the bottom intact.

In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.

Place the cored apples in a baking dish and fill each apple with the butter-sugar mixture.

Pour the water into the bottom of the baking dish.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the apples are tender.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes to caramelize the tops.

Serve the baked apples warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
