
Crispy Sea Cucumber Fritters
Transform slightly expired dried sea cucumber into crispy fritters, reducing food waste while ensuring food safety.
Ingredients
- 150g slightly expired dried sea cucumber
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
Soak the dried sea cucumber in water overnight to rehydrate it. Drain and finely chop it.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and chopped parsley.
Gradually pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture, stirring until well combined.
Add the chopped sea cucumber to the batter and mix well.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or skillet over medium-high heat.
Drop spoonfuls of the sea cucumber batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Remove the fritters from the oil and drain on paper towels.
Serve the crispy sea cucumber fritters hot as an appetizer or snack.
