A simple recipe to infuse olive oil with the flavor of rosemary, using expired but still safe dried rosemary. This recipe helps reduce food waste and adds a delicious herb-infused oil to your pantry.
Ingredients
- 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons crushed dried rosemary (expired but still safe)
Instructions
In a small saucepan, heat the olive oil over low heat until warm.
Add the crushed dried rosemary to the warm oil and stir gently.
Continue to heat the mixture over low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and let the mixture cool completely.
Strain the oil through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the rosemary bits.
Transfer the infused oil into a clean glass bottle or jar.
Store in a cool, dark place.
Use the rosemary-infused olive oil in salad dressings, marinades, or as a flavorful drizzle over roasted vegetables.
