Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs
Delicious meatballs with a surprise mozzarella filling, made with slightly expired opened packaged mozzarella to reduce food waste.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 oz slightly expired opened packaged mozzarella, cut into small cubes
- 2 cups marinara sauce
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
Take a small portion of the meat mixture and flatten it in your palm. Place a cube of mozzarella in the center and wrap the meat around it, forming a meatball. Repeat with the remaining meat mixture and mozzarella cubes.
Place the meatballs in a baking dish and pour marinara sauce over them.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the cheese is melted and gooey.
Serve the mozzarella stuffed meatballs with additional marinara sauce on the side.
Enjoy!
