
Bread Pudding
A comforting dessert that transforms expired multi grain rolls into a delicious treat. The rolls are safe to consume up to 3 days after expiry. Ensure the bread pudding is thoroughly cooked to minimize any potential risks.
Ingredients
- 6 multi grain rolls, homemade (past expiry date)
- 2 cups milk
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup raisins (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
Slice the multi grain rolls into cubes.
In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, beaten eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon.
Add the bread cubes to the bowl and let them soak in the mixture for about 10 minutes.
If desired, stir in the raisins.
Transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the bread pudding is set and golden brown on top.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serve the bread pudding warm as is or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
