
Mesquite Chocolate Chip Cookies
A delicious recipe that uses expired mesquite powder to add a unique flavor to classic chocolate chip cookies.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons expired mesquite powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Stir in the expired mesquite powder and chocolate chips.
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
