Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish and set aside.

In a large bowl, mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.

Add the melted butter to the dry ingredients and mix until crumbly.

Press half of the mixture into the prepared baking dish to form the base.

Spread the chopped maraschino cherries evenly over the base.

If desired, sprinkle the chopped nuts on top of the cherries.

Crumble the remaining oat mixture over the cherries and nuts, pressing lightly.
