
Imperial Stout Beef Stew
A hearty and flavorful beef stew made with slightly expired Imperial Stout.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs beef stew meat
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 carrots, peeled and sliced
- 4 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 2 cups slightly expired Imperial Stout
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the beef stew meat and cook until browned on all sides. Remove the meat from the pot and set aside.
In the same pot, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent.
Add the carrots, potatoes, slightly expired Imperial Stout, beef broth, tomato paste, dried thyme, and dried rosemary to the pot. Stir well.
Return the browned beef stew meat to the pot. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 1 hour, or until the meat is tender and the flavors have melded together.
Serve the Imperial Stout Beef Stew hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
