A delicious recipe to use up expired hot roll mix. The dry mix is safe to consume even after the expiration date as long as it has been stored properly.

Ingredients

  • 1 package of expired hot roll mix
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a mixing bowl, combine the expired hot roll mix and warm water. Stir until a soft dough forms.

On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.

Roll out the dough into a rectangular shape, about 1/4 inch thick.

In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and minced garlic. Brush the mixture evenly over the dough.

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over the garlic-buttered dough.

Starting from one of the longer sides, tightly roll up the dough into a log.

Slice the log into 1-inch thick rounds and place them on a greased baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the bread rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley.
