Cheesy Garlic Bread
A delicious recipe to use up expired hot roll mix. The dry mix is safe to consume even after the expiration date as long as it has been stored properly.
Ingredients
- 1 package of expired hot roll mix
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the expired hot roll mix and warm water. Stir until a soft dough forms.
On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
Roll out the dough into a rectangular shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and minced garlic. Brush the mixture evenly over the dough.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over the garlic-buttered dough.
Starting from one of the longer sides, tightly roll up the dough into a log.
Slice the log into 1-inch thick rounds and place them on a greased baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the bread rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley.
Serve warm and enjoy!
