
Candy Bark
A delicious and festive treat made using expired hard candies, perfect for reducing food waste.
Ingredients
- 2 cups expired hard candies
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- Assorted toppings (optional): crushed nuts, dried fruits, sprinkles
Instructions
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the expired hard candies in a plastic bag and crush them into small pieces using a rolling pin or mallet.
Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth and melted.
Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly using a spatula.
Sprinkle the crushed hard candies over the melted chocolate, pressing them lightly to adhere.
Melt the white chocolate chips in a separate microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth and melted.
Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the candy bark in a decorative pattern.
If desired, sprinkle additional toppings such as crushed nuts, dried fruits, or sprinkles over the bark.
Refrigerate the bark for 1 hour or until firm.
Once firm, break the bark into small pieces.
Store in an airtight container in a cool place.
Enjoy within 1 week.
