Garlic Whole Bulb Pasta
A simple and flavorful pasta dish that makes use of slightly expired garlic bulbs. The slow roasting of the garlic brings out its natural sweetness and adds a rich and creamy texture to the sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 whole bulb of garlic, slightly past expiration
- 200g pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cut the top off the garlic bulb to expose the cloves. Drizzle with olive oil and wrap tightly in aluminum foil.
Place the wrapped garlic bulb in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the cloves are soft and golden brown.
While the garlic is roasting, cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Once the garlic is roasted, squeeze the cloves out of the skins into a small bowl. Mash the cloves with a fork until smooth.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the roasted garlic paste and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Remove from heat and sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese melts and coats the pasta evenly.
Serve hot and enjoy!
