Ingredients

  • 8 oz linguine or spaghetti
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons expired garlic paste (commercially packaged, unopened, within 180 days of expiration)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 lemon, zest and juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

Cook the linguine or spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through.

Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the expired garlic paste, red pepper flakes (if using), lemon zest, and lemon juice to the skillet. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to infuse the flavors.
