Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups expired frozen blackberries
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.

In a mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, whole wheat flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.

Add the melted butter, unsweetened applesauce, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix well until combined.

Press half of the oat mixture into the bottom of the greased baking dish.

Spread the expired frozen blackberries evenly over the oat mixture.

Crumble the remaining oat mixture over the blackberries, pressing lightly.
