
Cinnamon Roll French Toast Casserole
A delightful French toast casserole using expired cinnamon rolls, reducing food waste and ensuring food safety.
Ingredients
- 6-8 expired cinnamon rolls
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
Cut the expired cinnamon rolls into small pieces and place them in the greased baking dish.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, salt, and maple syrup.
Pour the egg mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces, making sure all the pieces are coated.
If desired, sprinkle the chopped nuts over the top.
Cover the baking dish with foil and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the French toast is golden brown and set.
Allow the casserole to cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with additional maple syrup if desired.
