
Century Egg Fried Rice
A delicious and flavorful fried rice made with slightly expired century eggs. This recipe is a great way to use up century eggs and create a satisfying meal while reducing food waste.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 2 slightly expired century eggs, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup diced carrots
- 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
- 1/2 cup peas
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, sliced for garnish
Instructions
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the diced carrots, bell peppers, and peas to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened.
Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and add the diced century eggs to the other side. Cook for 2 minutes to heat through.
Add the cooked rice to the skillet. Stir well to combine with the vegetables and century eggs.
Pour the soy sauce and oyster sauce over the rice mixture. Season with salt and black pepper. Stir fry for 5-6 minutes until the rice is heated through and well coated with the sauces.
Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions.
Serve the century egg fried rice hot and enjoy!
