Ingredients

  • 4 slices of expired whole wheat bread
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried herbs (such as oregano, basil, or thyme)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 cups mixed salad greens
  • Your choice of salad dressing

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cut the expired bread slices into small cubes.

In a bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, dried herbs, salt, and pepper.

Add the bread cubes to the bowl and toss until they are coated with the oil mixture.

Spread the bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the croutons are crispy and golden brown.
