
Baguette Bruschetta
A flavorful and refreshing recipe to use up slightly expired baguette. The bread is topped with fresh tomatoes, basil, and olive oil for a delicious appetizer or light meal.
Ingredients
- 1 slightly expired baguette
- 2 ripe tomatoes
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices.
Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet and toast them in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until they are slightly crispy.
Meanwhile, dice the tomatoes and finely chop the fresh basil leaves.
In a bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Remove the toasted baguette slices from the oven and let them cool slightly.
Top each baguette slice with a generous amount of the tomato and basil mixture.
