Ingredients

  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 3/4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup expired but safe applesauce
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil.

Add the oats and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Stir in the expired but safe applesauce, milk, honey, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.

Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes or until the oatmeal reaches your desired consistency.
