
Whole Wheat Banana Bread
Transform overripe bananas and expired whole wheat flour into a moist and flavorful banana bread.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup expired whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, expired whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the chopped walnuts if desired.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
