Sesame Oil Chicken Stir-Fry
A savory and aromatic chicken stir-fry dish made with slightly expired sesame oil.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish
- 2 green onions, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
In a bowl, combine soy sauce and cornstarch. Add chicken and toss to coat. Set aside to marinate for 15 minutes.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add sesame oil, bell peppers, onion, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until vegetables are crisp-tender.
In a small bowl, whisk together oyster sauce, honey, and chicken broth. Pour the sauce into the skillet with the vegetables. Stir well to combine.
Add cooked chicken back into the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
Serve the sesame oil chicken stir-fry over steamed rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
