Ingredients

  • 4 cups slightly expired multi-grain bread, cubed
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup raisins (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large mixing bowl, combine the milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Whisk until well combined.

Add the cubed multi-grain bread to the bowl and gently mix until all the bread is coated with the milk mixture. Let it sit for 10 minutes to allow the bread to absorb the liquid.

If desired, stir in the raisins and chopped nuts.
