
French Toast
A delicious breakfast recipe that transforms expired multi-grain bread into a sweet treat.
Ingredients
- 4 slices of expired multi-grain bread (5 days past expiry)
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Butter or cooking spray for greasing the pan
Instructions
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract.
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and grease it with butter or cooking spray.
Dip each slice of expired multi-grain bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side.
Place the soaked bread slices on the heated skillet or griddle.
Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Repeat with the remaining bread slices, adding more butter or cooking spray as needed.
