
Cheesy Lasagna Skillet
Turn your expired frozen lasagna into a delicious and safe skillet meal.
Ingredients
- 1 Frozen Tv Dinner Lasagna (expired but still safe to consume)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions
Thaw the frozen lasagna in the refrigerator overnight.
Remove the lasagna from the packaging and cut it into small pieces.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and bell pepper. Sauté until softened.
Add the diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.
Carefully place the lasagna pieces into the skillet, spreading them evenly.
Cover the skillet and simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the lasagna is heated through.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the lasagna.
Cover the skillet again and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
Ensure the lasagna reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) before consuming.
