
Apricot Crumble
A delicious crumble recipe using expired frozen apricots, ensuring food safety.
Ingredients
- 2 cups expired frozen apricots
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a bowl, combine the expired frozen apricots, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Mix well.
Transfer the apricot mixture into a greased baking dish.
In another bowl, mix together the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients and use your fingers to rub it in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the apricot mixture in the baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the crumble topping is golden brown and the apricots are bubbling.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
