
Thai Fish Sauce Marinade
A flavorful marinade that uses expired fish sauce to enhance the taste of grilled or roasted meats.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup expired fish sauce (still safe)
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 4 chicken breasts, pork chops, or salmon fillets
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk together the expired fish sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, chili flakes, and cilantro.
Place the chicken breasts, pork chops, or salmon fillets in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish.
Pour the marinade over the meat and ensure it is evenly coated.
Cover the bag or dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight.
Preheat your grill or oven to the desired temperature.
Remove the meat from the marinade and discard the excess marinade.
Grill or roast the meat until cooked through, following safe cooking temperatures for the specific meat chosen.
Serve the grilled or roasted meat with your favorite sides.
