Upside Down Frozen Cake
A unique twist on the classic upside-down cake made with commercially frozen cake, ensuring food safety and reducing food waste.
Ingredients
- 1 commercially frozen cake, slightly past expiration
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 can pineapple rings
- Maraschino cherries
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat until the mixture becomes syrupy.
Pour the syrup into the bottom of a greased cake pan.
Arrange pineapple rings on top of the syrup, placing a cherry in the center of each ring.
Thaw the commercially frozen cake slightly and place it on top of the pineapple and cherries.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
Carefully invert the cake onto a serving plate, allowing the pineapple and cherries to become the topping.
Serve warm and enjoy!
