Ingredients
- 1 package of expired, commercially frozen cake
- 1/2 cup of frosting (any flavor)
- 1 cup of candy melts (any color)
- Cake pop sticks
Instructions
Thaw the expired frozen cake in the refrigerator overnight.
Crumble the cake into fine crumbs using your hands or a food processor.
In a bowl, mix the cake crumbs with the frosting until well combined.
Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
Place the cake balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and insert a cake pop stick into each ball.
Freeze the cake pops for 30 minutes to firm up.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the candy melts according to the package instructions.
Dip each cake pop into the melted candy melts, allowing any excess to drip off.
Place the dipped cake pops back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet and let the candy coating harden.
Repeat the dipping process if desired for a thicker coating.
Once the candy coating is set, the cake pops are ready to be enjoyed.
Serve and savor these delightful treats!
