Ingredients
- 8 ounces pasta of your choice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup expired Bel Paese Cheese, grated
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable broth
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until translucent and fragrant.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable broth, all-purpose flour, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper.
Pour the milk mixture into the skillet with the sautéed onions and garlic. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the grated Bel Paese Cheese until melted and well combined.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta evenly with the cheese sauce.
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle breadcrumbs over the top, if desired.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Enjoy this delicious cheesy pasta bake!
