
Baked Beans and Sausage Casserole
A hearty casserole recipe that combines expired baked beans with sausage. The casserole is baked to ensure proper heating and food safety.
Ingredients
- 1 can of expired baked beans
- 8 ounces cooked sausages, sliced
- 1 cup cooked white rice
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
- 1/4 cup diced onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the expired baked beans, sliced sausages, cooked white rice, diced tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, minced garlic, dried thyme, dried oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Allow the casserole to cool slightly before serving.
Serve warm as a main dish or as a side.
