Homemade Tortillas
Make homemade tortillas using expired flour, ensuring food safety through proper cooking.
Ingredients
- 2 cups expired flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm water
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the expired flour and salt.
Gradually add warm water to the flour mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
Divide the dough into small balls and cover with a damp cloth. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
On a floured surface, roll out each dough ball into a thin round shape.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
Cook each tortilla for about 30 seconds on each side until golden brown spots appear.
Transfer the cooked tortillas to a plate and cover with a clean cloth to keep them warm.
Serve the homemade tortillas warm with your favorite fillings.
