Ingredients
- 1 can of unopened split peas
- 1 cup of diced leftover ham
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup of bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.

Add the unopened canned split peas, diced ham, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine.

Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.

In a small bowl, mix together the shredded cheddar cheese and bread crumbs.

Sprinkle the cheese and bread crumb mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
