Creamy Cheese Pasta
This recipe transforms expired Appenzeller cheese into a rich and creamy pasta sauce. Ensure to heat the sauce thoroughly to ensure food safety.
Ingredients
- 8 oz expired Appenzeller cheese, grated
- 8 oz pasta of your choice
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Reduce heat to low and add the milk to the saucepan. Heat the milk until hot but not boiling.
Gradually add the grated expired Appenzeller cheese to the milk, stirring continuously until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
Add the cooked pasta to the saucepan and toss until the pasta is coated evenly with the cheese sauce.
Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, to ensure the pasta is heated through.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Enjoy!
