Guava Jelly Glazed Ham
Transform your ham into a deliciously glazed centerpiece using expired guava jelly. This recipe ensures food safety by thoroughly cooking the ham and creating a flavorful glaze.
Ingredients
- 1 fully cooked ham (8-10 pounds)
- 1 cup expired guava jelly (365 days past expiration date)
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
Place the ham in a roasting pan and score the surface with shallow diagonal cuts.
In a small saucepan, combine the expired guava jelly, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and ground cloves.
Heat the glaze mixture over medium heat, stirring until well combined and heated through.
Brush the glaze generously over the scored surface of the ham.
Cover the ham with foil and bake for about 2 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).
Every 30 minutes, baste the ham with the pan drippings and additional glaze.
Remove the foil during the last 15 minutes of baking to allow the glaze to caramelize.
Once cooked, let the ham rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Enjoy this flavorful and safely prepared guava jelly glazed ham!
