
Creamy Mushroom Whole Wheat Pasta
A creamy and flavorful pasta dish made with slightly expired whole wheat pasta and sautéed mushrooms.
Ingredients
- 200g slightly expired whole wheat pasta
- 250g mushrooms
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Cook the whole wheat pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for a minute.
Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they release their moisture and become golden brown.
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Cook for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined.
Add the cooked whole wheat pasta to the skillet and toss to coat it evenly with the creamy mushroom sauce.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve the creamy mushroom whole wheat pasta hot and garnish with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
