
Spicy Honey Glazed Chicken
A sweet and spicy chicken dish using expired hot pepper sauce to add a flavorful kick. Ensure the hot pepper sauce is unopened and safe to consume. Properly cooking the chicken will ensure food safety.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons hot pepper sauce (commercially bottled, unopened, and within safety date)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- Optional garnish: sliced green onions, sesame seeds
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, hot pepper sauce, olive oil, garlic, and ginger.
Place the chicken breasts in a baking dish and pour the honey mixture over them, ensuring they are evenly coated.
Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through, basting with the sauce halfway through.
Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Serve hot with steamed rice or roasted vegetables.
