Homemade Fruit Sauce
Create a delicious fruit sauce using expired cornstarch, ensuring proper heating to eliminate any potential bacteria. Check the cornstarch for any signs of spoilage before using.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh or frozen berries (your choice)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons expired cornstarch (safe to consume)
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
In a saucepan, combine the berries and sugar. Cook over medium heat until the berries release their juices and become soft, about 5 minutes.
In a small bowl, whisk together the expired cornstarch and water until smooth.
Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan and stir well.
Continue cooking the sauce, stirring constantly, until it thickens and reaches a desired consistency.
Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the lemon juice.
Allow the fruit sauce to cool before serving.
Use it as a topping for pancakes, waffles, ice cream, or any other dessert of your choice.
Enjoy!
