Ingredients

  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 4 slightly expired tea bags
  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until translucent.

Add the basmati rice and sauté for another 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add the vegetable broth, slightly expired tea bags, turmeric, cumin, salt, and pepper.

Stir well to combine, then bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed.
