Cheesy Tomato Soup Bread Bowl
Transform expired but safe Instant Tomato Soup into a comforting bread bowl soup. Ensure the soup is heated properly to eliminate any potential risks.
Ingredients
- 2 bread bowls
- 2 cups expired Instant Tomato Soup
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- Croutons, for garnish
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Slice off the tops of the bread bowls and carefully hollow out the centers, leaving a sturdy crust.
Place the bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes to crisp up the crust.
While the bread bowls are baking, heat the expired Instant Tomato Soup in a saucepan over medium heat until it reaches a simmer. Stir occasionally to ensure even heating.
Once the bread bowls are slightly toasted, remove them from the oven and fill each with the heated tomato soup.
Top the soup with shredded cheddar cheese and return the bread bowls to the oven for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish with chopped fresh basil and croutons before serving.
Note: It is crucial to heat the Instant Tomato Soup thoroughly to eliminate any potential foodborne pathogens.
