Ingredients

  • 1 cup expired Instant Falafel Mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the expired Instant Falafel Mix, water, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to form a thick batter.

Cover the bowl and let the batter rest in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.

Using wet hands, shape the falafel batter into small patties.

Carefully place the patties in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides, approximately 3-4 minutes per side.

Remove the falafel patties from the pan and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Serve hot with pita bread, tahini sauce, and fresh vegetables.
