
Crispy Falafel Patty
Make delicious crispy falafel patties using expired but safe Instant Falafel Mix.

Ingredients
- 1 cup expired Instant Falafel Mix
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the expired Instant Falafel Mix, water, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to form a thick batter.
- Cover the bowl and let the batter rest in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Using wet hands, shape the falafel batter into small patties.
- Carefully place the patties in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides, approximately 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the falafel patties from the pan and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with pita bread, tahini sauce, and fresh vegetables.
