Ingredients
- 1 cup expired cereal
- 1/2 cup nut butter (e.g. peanut butter, almond butter)
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup dried fruits (e.g. raisins, cranberries)
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (e.g. almonds, walnuts)
- 1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional)
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Open the cereal box and check for any signs of spoilage. If the cereal looks and smells normal, it is safe to use.
- 2. In a mixing bowl, combine the expired cereal, nut butter, honey or maple syrup, dried fruits, chopped nuts, shredded coconut (if using), and mini chocolate chips (if using).
- 3. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
- 4. Take small portions of the mixture and roll into bite-sized balls. If the mixture is too sticky, wet your hands with water to prevent sticking.

- 6. Refrigerate the energy balls for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- 7. Once firm, transfer the energy balls to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- 8. Enjoy as a quick and nutritious snack!
